Wedding photos are a conundrum, sometimes. For a day that is so special and unique to two specific people, the photos taken on the day often feel very generic and similar to a million others. Even some of the ‘fun’ shots that people do are recycled from other weddings. While nothing says your wedding photos have to be absolutely original in order to have emotional depth and meaning for you, it is nice to do something different, if only for a few shots.

This is a really nice idea: Take a fairly standard photo of the couple on the wedding day, then contact their families and get some photos of them as little kids. Formal photos are good, but studio portraits won’t match up with the lighting. Scan them in, and then combine them into one larger piece, with individual elements from different works that complement each other.
For a final touch, write their names under figures that could represent them, making it seem like the two were drawing themselves as a married couple even when children. As an extra bonus, if you can find enough material in their old drawings to depict their actual wedding using their own childhood art, you’ve just won the wedding gift contest for life.
